Once upon a time, the Turtle challenged the Rabbit to race from the East side to the West side of the woods. The Rabbit accepted the challenge, so they raced. As soon as the start signal bursted, the Turtle ran with all his strength, his will, his passion…not even looking back… After half a day, the Turtle reached the Destination, hit the banner and he knew he left the Rabbit behind. Only till he sun set, they saw the Rabbit approaching the West side near the destination.
The whole audiences laughed at the Rabbit: “what a shame, you are so arrogant, you are so ignorant, you’re faster but you’re defeated by the slow Turtle, shame on you Rabbit, ha.. ha.. ha..”
The Rabbit just chuckled and walked away. The Jr.Rabbit, his title brother, chased along and asked “Brother, you disgraced our family, running fast was what we did best, now how do we face others?! Anyway, how could it take you so long???”
The Rabbit now smiled and told his little brother “Yes I was running fast, but suddenly I saw a butterfly, he landed on a splendid flower, flapping his wings very slow… I stopped and asked him why, he told me “this is the best flower I’ve ever tasted, I must take it slow”… So I continued running, I saw a fish swimming so slow under the creek, I stopped and asked him why, he told me “the water downstream is always cloudier and colder, why should I get there fast? I even trying to swim back upstream”… So I continued running, and I made friend with a porcupine and he taught me how to defend without running, I made friend with a bird, who taught me how to sing…and I saw tons of things I’ve never seen and talked to those I never did before…. Suddenly I realized that because we’ve been always running too fast, we didn’t see what others did. Life is not about setting a goal and just running all the way to it… it’s the journey that make up your life. And more importantly, the goal is not one that others told you that it is…you need to find your own, and you’re not racing with anyone else but yourself. We run fast and we always do, nobody can take it from us, why should beat the Turtle to prove this? Let him fulfill his dream and achieve his goal, but that’s his, not mine”
